This restaurant has been around for many, many years and had a great reputation within the neighborhood for having excellent food at a great price. I believe it was sold close to two years ago and it has gone completely downhill since. They first started tinkering with the looks of the restaurant; gradually expanding to a club/bar/lounge in the neighboring property. El Sitio completely lost its charm and coziness. Strike one! Gradually the staff started to change, to the point where getting decent service at your table was impossible. Strike two! Once the cooks were let go… forget about it… the food was but a shell of what it was. Strike three! Don’t bother going to the restaurant; let alone ordering food online. You will be sorely disappointed in the poor service and atrocious food.

Awful service. Avoid this place. Took an hour and a half to arrive. Called to get a status and they hung up on me. Food wasn't even worth the wait.

Restaurant said delivery would be 30-50 mins tok them 1 & 1/2 hours. Missing a number of items from the order and the food that arrived did not match the description of the meal on the menu.

very unhappy with this food they dont deserve not even 1 star i order some enchilado de camarodes and it was horrible did not taste like shimp instead it was a soup of peppers. I wouldnt recomend this restaurant if you love food.

Had to call them an hour after I ordered to see where the food was and they told me that they didn't deliver and said they were receiving the order "as we speak." Delivery man got lost. Food was so-so. Won't order from here again.

Food was very blaned. Shrimp tasted fishy. Rice wasnt cooked and the plantains we're awful. I'll never order again...very dissappointed.

Won't be ordering from here again. They advertised side dishes as part of a meal, then charged me extra on delivery for one of the side dishes that I thought was part of the meal (maduros in my case). They apparently tried to call, but for some reason I did not hear my cell phone. I checked my received calls because the delivery person said they place tried to call. Nevertheless, they should not have charged me, and should have simply let it go and revised the menu for future orders. It is not my fault that the side dish was advertised as part of the meal price, so it's a matter of principal. The food itself was decent, except the maduros were extra greasy.

The cuban sandwich is the best in New York. Unfortunately I dont see it on this menu. The other dishes are excellent though. When the sandwich goes on the SW menu the rating will go to 5 stars
